Layer 05: The Fog Layer
The Fog Layer is the final defense mechanism. It operates on the principle that privacy requires noise. Even if transactions are split and routed, a dedicated attacker might analyze timing patterns (metadata analysis).
Traffic Masking
The Fog Layer generates "Chaff" traffic. These are valid Solana transactions that serve no economic purpose other than to obfuscate the user's real intent.
Self-Churning: Shards periodically exchange small amounts of SOL with each other to maintain active history, preventing "Sleeping Wallet" analysis.
Dusting: Random low-value transfers to unrelated addresses to generate false positives in clustering graphs.
Probabilistic Timing
The execution of Fog transactions follows a Poisson distribution. This ensures that the traffic pattern mimics natural, organic human behavior rather than robotic, equidistant pulses. By blending the real Split Transactions with the Fog Chaff, Verdant creates a high-entropy environment where isolating the signal from the noise becomes computationally expensive for attackers.
