Compliance & Legal Statement
Philosophy of Technology
Verdant Privacy is a software development project building open-source tools for the Solana blockchain. We provide "Privacy-as-a-Service" infrastructure. We are not a financial institution, a bank, a money transmitter, or a custodian of assets.
Distinction from Mixers
It is vital to distinguish the Verdant architecture from "Mixing Services" which are often subject to specific regulatory scrutiny.
No Pooling: Verdant does not pool user funds.
No Commingling: User A's funds never interact with User B's funds.
No Anonymity Set: We do not rely on a shared anonymity set.
Verdant is an automation tool that allows a single user to manage multiple standard Solana wallets efficiently. Using Verdant is legally equivalent to a user manually creating 50 wallets and sending transactions between them one by one. We simply automate this process to protect the user from surveillance capitalism and data harvesting.
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Stance
The Verdant Protocol is designed to protect lawful users from predatory on-chain analysis (e.g., front-running, stalking, and data aggregation). It is not designed to aid in the concealment of the proceeds of crime.
Because Verdant transactions are recorded on the public ledger, they remain compatible with forensic investigation by law enforcement agencies if necessary. We do not provide features that permanently erase the "money trail" (such as ZK-snarks used in a shielded pool), but rather features that obscure the "behavioral trail."
User Responsibility
By using the Verdant interface, you acknowledge that you are responsible for complying with the local laws and regulations of your jurisdiction regarding the use of blockchain privacy tools and tax reporting.
